textile sculptures

so, sally has a thing for birds. if that isn’t already obvious, it soon will be.

since creating her first bird sculpture (self portrait as a bowerbird) in 2009, sally rediscovered an old love of 3d textiles + a long-term fascination with feathered creatures has turned into a bit of an obsession.

recycled textiles are printed, stitched, snipped + painstakingly hand assembled to capture an amplified likeness of some of sally’s favourite native species.
